Children's & Teen's Counselling
At Alite Mind I offer a warm and nurturing space where children & teens feel truly seen, heard, and supported. As a registered counsellor and meditation teacher, I specialise in working with children & teens aged 5 to 17, helping them navigate big emotions, trauma, life changes, and personal challenges through play based, talk and expressive therapies.
My approach is grounded in curiosity, creativity, and care, always child or teen centred, while also deeply family-focused. I provide a supportive environment where young people can express themselves safely and freely, and where caregivers feel heard. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where we work together as a team to support each child or teen’s growth, resilience, and wellbeing.
 Using play, art, sensory tools, sand, talk and storytelling, sessions gently support emotional expression, confidence building, and self-awareness, all at the child or teens own pace.
 At the heart of my work is a deep belief in each child’s potential and a passion for helping families reconnect with calm, clarity, and emotional wellbeing.

What Alite Mind Therapy sessions may include
Role Play – Encouraging emotional expression and problem-solving through imaginative play.
Arts & Crafts – Providing a creative outlet to process feelings in a hands-on fun way.
Puppets & Play-Based Techniques – Helping children explore emotions through storytelling, imaginative and symbolic play.
Mindfulness – Helping children to develop focus, emotional balance and self awareness via storytelling, movement and sensory exploration.Â
Sand Tray – Providing a safe psychological distance the sand and miniatures offer a gentle and expressive way to explore emotions, trauma and challenges.
Tailored Sessions
Each session is child led, this supports the child or teens needs, ensuring they feel supported, heard, seen and understood while working towards emotional resilience, fostering self growth and awareness.Â
Each child’s therapeutic journey is unique and the level of caregiver involvement will depend on their age and individual needs. As we work together I will tailor the approach to ensure the best support for both the child, teen and the family.
My therapeutic approach is attachment focused, integrating a blend of emotional, mindful, creative, play and somatic therapies to support healing and growth. You are welcome to reach out to discuss our compatibility and how we can work together on your journey.
Your treatment plan will include evidence based interventions as outline below:
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, helping individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours.
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, helping individuals understand and transform emotional patterns, promoting stronger self awareness.
Internal Family Systems therapy, this involves identifying and gently working with different inner parts of the self, promoting harmony and self-leadership to support emotional healing and personal growth.
Somatic and Nervous System work, tuning into bodily sensations to release stress and build resilience, helping to regulate emotions.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, using mindfulness and meditation techniques to help individuals manage stress.
Clinical Emotional Freedom Technique, this involves tapping on specific acupressure points to reduce emotional distress, promoting healing and restoring balance to the body and mind. Â
Person and Child-Centred Therapy, is a humanistic approach that focuses on creating a non-judgmental, empathetic environment where individuals can explore their feelings, gain self awareness and work toward personal growth.
Expressive Therapies for children & teens includes play, sand tray, arts and crafts and role play. Promoting discovery, curiosity and self expression. Through these hands on, experiential activities, children & teens can explore their emotions, develop problem solving skills, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves in a safe and engaging environment.
